Third Party Resources

Comprehensive Sites

A catch-all Elite Dangerous social media, of sorts, Inara will sync with Frontier's API to keep a profile of your CMDR. Inara allows a player to search for a system or starport, a particular faction state, a commodity, the nearest material trader, ...it is an essential tool for any CMDR.  Inara maintains news, galleries, Squdaron profiles, leaderboards, and more!

Elite Dangerous Star Map is a detailed database of the many star systems in the game. In addition, EDSM allows the player to view in-depth history of their exploration.

Shipbuilding Resources

Elite Dangerous' premier shipbuilding site. EDSY allows you to design and engineer a ship, and view its stats...all before ever wasting a credit or material in-game. EDSY is well known to have accurate numbers and is consistently updated with new modules.

Similar to ED Shipyard, Coriolis allows you to design and engineer a ship to view theoretical stats. Although most would agree that Coriolis has the nicer UI, it is not up to date with newer modules.

Now hosted by Sirius Corp, ED Ship Anatomy allows you to view the module and hardpoint placement on every ship, as well as hardpoint convergence at various ranges. This is especially helpful when determining what kinds of weapons to equip on your new ship!

Exploration Resources

Spansh is a route-plotting tool that allows CMDRs to better plan their journey--whether they're plotting a Fleet Carrier trip (Spansh will even determine tritium use), using the neutron highway or just exploring the Galaxy!

EDAstro hosts galactic maps, including heatmaps that display which areas of the Galaxy have been more heavily explored, and which areas have not. This is a great resource for planning a trip to discover unmapped systems!

EDDiscovery is a software you can install on your PC that helps keep track of exploration data, systems you've mapped, and journeys you've taken.

Hosted by Spansh, Road to Riches (and Expressway to Exobiology allow you to input your jump range and current location, and then plot you a route of high-value planets (or plants) to scan.

Other Resources

A tool for finding good locations for massacre mission stacking. Intra allows you to specify certain parameters and helps identify optimal systems. If you enjoy using I.N.T.R.A., help keep it updated with the official EDMC Plugin!

ED Codex is a more wholistic, complete list of third-party tools. It goes much more in depth than this list.

The Anti-Xeno Initiative is the Elite Dangerous Community's premiere Thargoid-fighting group. They host a variety of resources, including combat guides and example AX Combat ship builds.

Plugins

ED Odyssey Materials Helper is a powerful tool for Engineering. It reads your journal files and maintains a list of engineering materials for both ground and space engineering. Additionally, you can create multiple "wishlists" of modifications, and EDOMH will display what materials you're still missing, and plot you the quickest route to each engineer.

EDMC is a must-have for Elite Dangerous. Among other things, it parses your journal files and updates EDDN, the Elite Dangerous Data Network that serves ad the basis for many other tools. EDMC allows you to keep tools such as Inara and EDSM up to date instantaneously. The real power of EDMC is the plugins.

EDMC plugins allow you to enhance your in-game details. There's a wide variety, but some examples:

  • an overlay that shows the location of your landing pad in a starport

  • a table to keep track of your profits per hour

  • a table to keep track of your massacre missions

  • a tool that will copy the next system in your route to your clipboard

and many more!

EDHM UI allows you to customize the colors of your HUD in-game! It's a great way to break up the monotonous orange.

OD Massacre Stacker helps you manage stacked massacre missions efficiently.

Voice Attack is a comprehensive program for automations on your PC. You can use it to activate keybinds and macros with your voice. Combine it with HCS Voicepacks, and you have a fully automated voice-activated COVAS.
